Historical Description of Fuzhou Wuta (Black Pagoda)
Fuzhou Wuta, originally named “Chongmiao Baosheng Jianlao Pagoda”, is located at the eastern foot of Wushan Scenic Area in Gulou District, Fuzhou. It is one of the oldest existing Buddhist pagodas in Fuzhou, forming the unique “Twin Pagodas of Rongcheng” landscape with the White Pagoda facing each other from east to west.
Wuta was first built during the Min Kingdom of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, specifically in the sixth year of Tianfu in the Later Jin Dynasty (941 AD), under the auspices of King Wang Yanxi of Min. It was initially a nine-story pagoda with stone and wood structure, later partially damaged due to wars. The existing pagoda body was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, an octagonal seven-story stone pagoda imitating wooden pavilion structure, about 35 meters high.
The pagoda body is exquisitely carved, with niches, Buddha statues and flower patterns on each floor. The smooth and delicate lines show the essence of stone carving art from the Five Dynasties to the Ming Dynasty. Ancient inscriptions on the pagoda base also record the construction history and renovation over the dynasties, with important historical value.

福州五塔（黑塔）的历史描述
福州五塔原名“崇庙宝胜建楼塔”，位于福州市鼓楼区吴山风景区东麓。它是福州现存最古老的佛塔之一，形成了独特的“荣成双塔”景观，白塔从东到西相互面对。
五塔始建于五代十国时期的闽国，具体来说是后金天府六年（公元941年），由闽王王延熙主持建造。它最初是一座九层石木结构的宝塔，后来因战争而部分受损。现存的塔身是明代重建的，是一座模仿木亭结构的八角形七层石塔，高约35米。
塔身雕刻精美，每层楼都有壁龛、佛像和花卉图案。流畅细腻的线条展现了五代至明代石雕艺术的精髓。塔基上的古代铭文也记录了历代的建筑历史和修缮情况，具有重要的历史价值。
